Nominations open for US$1 million humanitarian prize
Journalists and others who commit an extraordinary act of humanity are eligible for this prize.
The Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity, a 100 LIVES initiative on behalf of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide, is granted annually to an individual whose actions have had an exceptional impact on preserving human life and advancing humanitarian causes.
Nominations must include personal stories of individuals who have put themselves at personal risk for the sake of others. Self-nominations are not accepted.
The winner will receive a US$100,000 grant and will have the opportunity to nominate an organization that inspired his or her work to receive a US$1,000,000 award.
The deadline is Sept. 9.
