Public outreach fellowship open
Journalists who want to create innovative approaches to social issues can apply for this fellowship.
The Open Society Fellowship seeks “idea entrepreneurs” from across the world who aim to challenge conventional wisdom and are committed to achieving democracy and accountability.
For the current application round, proposals should examine the following proposition: „Human rights are under siege everywhere. Why?”
A fellowship project may identify a problem that has not previously been recognized, develop new policy ideas to address familiar problems, or offer a new advocacy strategy. Fellows may produce books, reports or blogs; innovative public-education projects; the launch of new campaigns, activities or organizations; and more.
Fellows spend a portion of their fellowship term at one of the organization’s main offices, in New York, Washington, London, Brussels or Budapest, or at a regional foundation.
In addition to supplying a stipend for living expenses, the fellowship may cover certain expenses, such as travel, conference fees and part-time research assistance.
The application deadline is Sept. 7.
