Reporting grants available to cover gender equality issues

indexJournalists and media outlets that target audiences in Europe can apply for a grant.

The European Journalism Centre (EJC) is accepting applications for the Innovation in Development Reporting Grant Programme (IDR). The program aims to develop experimental and compelling storytelling on topics related to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The funded projects must also address issues in one or more of the world’s Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and/or the key European donor countries’ development relations with LDCs. This round’s topic is gender equality issues.

Organizations must serve audiences in at least one of Europe’s top five Official Development Assistance donor countries in absolute terms: France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The average grant support for projects is EUR18,000.

The deadline to submit a story idea is Feb. 15, 2017.
