Contest honors reporting on Belarus

Journalists writing about Belarus can compete in this contest.

The Belarus in Focus Information Office, in collaboration with Press Club Belarus and Press Club Polska, is accepting entries for its Belarus in Focus contest. The aim is to encourage journalists to pay attention to ongoing events and trends in Belarus.

Applicants can submit articles published in 2015. While English is the main language, the contest is also accepting articles in Danish, Spanish, German, French, Ukrainian, Norwegian, Swedish, Bulgarian, Russian and Polish.

Three winners will receive prizes of EUR500 (US$640) each in the professional category. Three winners in the beginners’ category will be awarded prizes of EUR300 each (US$384). Additionally, there will be an audience award and a special prize from the New East Network and The Guardian: an internship at The Guardian. All winners will be invited to attend a two-day workshop, to be held in the spring of 2016.

The deadline is Jan. 19.
