Exchange program for journalists in Ukrainian media open

Journalism students and young journalists with up to five years of experience can apply for a paid internship in newsrooms in the Ukraine.

The Media Development Foundation and MYMEDIA are accepting candidates for the 2016 Journalism Exchange Program. The next class will meet June to August.

The program offers a paid internship in newsrooms at TV, radio, online or print media outlets in Ukraine as well as trainings and workshops from the Ukrainian and foreign media experts, journalists and editors.

The internship may last two weeks to two months. The program provides a EUR600 (US$676) stipend per month for selected candidates, but does not cover travel, food and accommodation expenses.

Candidates must be proficient in at least one of the following languages: Russian, Ukrainian or English. Proficiency in Russian or Ukrainian is preferable; the program has only one English-language newspaper as partner, while other media are Ukrainian- and Russian-language.

The deadline is May 20.
