International Women’s Media Foundation organizes trip to Africa

Women journalists with at least three years of experience and excellent English skills can apply for a reporting trip.

The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is accepting applications for reporting trips to South Sudan and Tanzania.

Six women journalists will report on development and humanitarian issues in South Sudan. Concurrently, another group of six journalists will cover stories related to conservation in Tanzania. Both trips will take place May 1 to 14, 2016.

Fellows will begin their trip in Nairobi, Kenya, where they will complete comprehensive security training and an orientation about the African Great Lakes region and focus countries.

The IWMF pays for fellowship-related expenses including travel, lodging, meals and fixers/interpreters unless the fellow’s news organization wishes to assume these costs.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 12.
