Knight International Journalism Fellowship in Tanzania open

Media professionals with experience in civic technology and the Global South can apply for this one-year fellowship with the possibility of an extension.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is accepting applications for the Knight International Journalism Fellowship in Tanzania. The fellow will work with Code for Africa, a pan-African data journalism initiative, and spearhead a team in Tanzania.

As an ICFJ Knight Fellow, the selected candidate will help forge partnerships with local newsrooms, recruit technologists and data journalists to embed into partner media outlets and help those partners build pilot projects. He or she will also help to grow local Hacks/Hackers communities, facilitate data literacy and digital journalism skills initiatives.

Candidates must be fluent in English. Proficiency in other languages spoken in Tanzania is a plus.

The fellowship will be based in Tanzania, but applicants can be from any country.
