NewsU hosts free webinar on trends in mobile news

Journalists and anyone interested in mobile journalism can attend this one-hour webinar.

News University, a Poynter Institute e-learning project, is offering the webinar, „Trends in Mobile News,” which will be broadcast at 2 p.m. EDT on July 20.

Participants will learn: how to recognize emerging trends in the mobile news arena, based on the findings in a Knight Foundation report and practical experiences; how other organizations use audience engagement and mobile strategy development; and why it’s important to understand how different audiences use mobile news.

The instructors are Shazna Nessa, Knight Foundation director of journalism; Luz Gomez, Knight Foundation director for learning and impact; Sasha Koren, editor of the Guardian US Mobile Innovation Lab; and Sarah Schmalbach, senior product manager for the Guardian US Mobile Innovation Lab.

The webinar is free with the support of the Knight Foundation.
