Online course on news judgment open

Anyone can register to attend this online course.

The University of Hong Kong, through the edX platform, is offering the six-week course „Making Sense of the News,” starting on May 19.

Participants will learn to identify reliable information in news reports and become better informed about the world. Topics include what makes news relevant, social sharing and the dynamics of the news cycles, how to evaluate sources in news reports, the verification process and more.

Registration is free, but those who want to receive a certificate must pay a US$50 fee. The estimated time for the course is 2 to 3 hours a week.
