By using the site https://cji.ro you implicitly accept these hereby terms and conditions. Our site can be accessed and used by any person, as long as it happens within the purposes and limitations mentioned below. If you do not agree with these terms and conditions, you should not use our site.
We refer to the site https://cji.ro when we say “we”, “us”, “ours”, “cji.ro”.
Accessing and using the site
The site https://cji.ro is the property of the Center for Independent Journalism Foundation (with the headquarters in Boulevard Elisabeta nr. 32, 1st floor, Sector 5, Bucharest, Romania) and offers information concerning the activity and programs of the organization.
The content of the site – Rights over intellectual property and restrictions
The content found on this site may be reproduced or shared only for personal purposes. By content we understand logo, images, articles and other publications, graphics, personal data (of the CIJ team) or other data that belongs to our partners. The content of the site cji.ro is protected by Copyright Law and other laws that protect the rights over intellectual and industrial property. If you wish to use our content for any other purposes than personal, we welcome you to write to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We strive to make sure that the content on our site does not contain errors, but we may have to intervene at times on different content sections in order to correct or add new information. As such, we reserve the right to modify, delete or archive content on our site without notifying you as it happens.
We care for your safety when you navigate our site, which is why you need to know that we make efforts to ensure that references to other site are safe connections, but we cannot vouch for their safe use. In order to avoid unpleasant events, we ask you to understand that CIJ is not to be held responsible for the information that that you can find by accessing external links nor for the way that these sites manage data they collect. We advise you to always check the link that you wish to access before visiting their respective sites.
By visiting our site, you are given the option to consent to electronic communication with CIJ. Generally, we do not send notifications to you on our site, but we do write announcements regarding our activities and projects on the Facebook groups managed by the CIJ teams (and on your email, if you have previously consented to this type of mediated communication). If you are a member in these groups, you express your consent implicitly to receiving notifications from us. Any other type of mediated communication from us to you will only happen on the channels that you offer your consent for and only after we receive your explicit consent. You can offer us consent when you allow us to collect your data.
The list of mediated communication techniques, according to the annex to the Ordinance no. 130 dated 31st of August 2000, concerning the legal frame of mediated contracts is as follows:

- Videophone (telephone with image)
- Videotext (microcomputer, TV screen with keyboard or touchscreen)

- Television (teleshopping)
Data privacy and security of information
We only collect that information which is necessary for us to properly carry out our activity at CIJ through our projects and programs. All the information that you provide to us is stored securely and is not accessible to other users of this site. We only use your data for the purposes that we declared when we collected your data.
CIJ guarantees the security and privacy of the data stored and shared through our informatic system, but is not liable for data losses caused by malfunctions or errors of the platform that is used to create and host our site, nor for the fact that the site, server and e-mails sent out from https://cji.ro may contain harmful components. CIJ is not liable if the security and integrity of the server that hosts the site are affected. If we observe problems or irregularities in the functioning of our communication channels or platforms, which can endanger your data, we will inform you about it as soon as possible.
We are bound to respect your rights conferred by the Law no. 677/2001 concerning the protection of individuals in respect to processing personal data and the free circulation of this data, as well as by the Ordinance no. 130/2000 concerning consumer protection upon closing and executing mediated contracts with its subsequent amendments.
You have the following rights, listed in a non-exhaustive manner: the right to ask CIJ to offer access to the data that store about you, the right to ask us to correct, update, block or delete, without payment, that data that is not processed according to the dispositions of the Law no. 677/2001, the right to ask us to cease processing your personal data, the right to ask us to stop sending notices or announcements on e-mail and the right to unsubscribe from our newsletter. In order to exercise these rights, you have to send us a notice via email that contains the date and your signature at: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will make sure that your rights are respected.
By accessing the site https://cji.ro you are aware that these Terms and Conditions are governed by the Romanian Law. Any dispute will be solved according to conflict specific regulations in force. If we ever land in a conflict with you, we wish to try and amiably settle it before resorting to court action.
If any of the previously listed clauses shall be nullified or deemed invalid, regardless of the cause, this will not affect the validity of the other clauses. Once you access, navigate and interact with the site cji.ro, you accept without objections these Terms and Conditions, held at contract value closed between you and CIJ.
