Media expert Bianca Oanea explains what the European Commission aims to do to support the press and human rights defenders when faced with SLAPP cases. The video also looks at examples of SLAPP cases in Romania where journalists or NGOs were sued in order to be intimidated.
These videos were produced by the Center for Independent Journalism as part of the PATFox (Pioneering Anti-SLAPP Training for Freedom of Expression) programme, co-funded by the European Commission. The project aims to train legal professionals and develop Europe’s first anti-SLAPP curriculum.
